University of Kansas
The history of the University of Kansas has been well documented since it was founded in 1865. There are a copious amount of postcards within the Fitzgerlad-Postma Collection, but we thought these ones were more eye catching.

The bookstore closed down, but the building still stands. The Wagoon Wheel Cafe now resides at 507 West 14th Street.

Potter Lake used to be a place of recreation for university students until it was deemed a saftey hazard. Today, swimming and ice skating are now forbidden.
Between the late 19th century and early 20th century, Kansas had a large mining industry. The engineering department at the University of Kansas reflected this and for a time there was a program specfically focused on mining.
