What Once Was
There are a few parts of Lawrence that have disappeared into the past. Certain attractions, like the rodeo, no longer come to the city and there are some places in Lawrence that are almost forgotten.
Lawrence once had its very own roller coaster at Woodland Park. Known as the Daisy Dozer, this roller coaster was constructed in 1910 by the Lawrence Amusement Company. Not much is known about the roller coaster, and a Lawrence Journal World article reported that in 2010 the Watkins Museum only had two photographs of the attraction. When the Depression hit, few people could afford to seek out the thrills that ride had provided and it was soon shut down.
