Description
Postcard with a black and white photograph of people walking on the ice gorge on the Kaw River on the front. Photograph depicts the river covered in sheets of ice, several people are in the center of the river. At the top of the photograph "Ice Gorge Lawrence Kan '10" is printed in white ink. A white border is around the entire photograph. At the top border on the left side "Jan 22 - 1910" is written in blue ink. A note is written on the back to E.R. Gafford in Oak Hill, Kansas from N.P.G. in Lawrence, Kansas. The note is about the ice and how explosives were used to break it up but that it did not work. Dated January 22, 1910 and postmarked January 23, 1910.
