Postcard with a sepia photograph of Massachusetts Street on the front. Photograph is looking north down Massachusetts Street from Eighth Street, Merchants Bank can is on the first corner of the right side. At the top of the photograph "Lawrence, Kansas. Mass. Street Looking North from Henry St." is printed in red ink (Henry Street is now Eighth Street). On the back along the left side "12748. C.W. Mettner, Lawrence, Kansas. Printed in Germany." is printed sideways in red ink. A note is written on the back to Mrs. Mary Gilbert and her son in London, Ohio from Gilbert's daughter Addie in Lawrence, Kansas. Note says that Addie has moved from the country into town. Postmarked September 26, 1910. Information on when the postcard was acquired is on the back, 10/22/1988.
