Description

Lawrence Free Public Library annual report for the year of 1969. The city gave instructions to plan for a new building. By February the architectural firm Robertson, Peters, Ericson & Williams was selected to design the new building. A site at 8th and Vermont was designated for the new building to start the construction with a budget of $1,575,000. Thanks to the Lawrence Public Library's service as reference center for Northeast Kansas Libraries System, patrons were able to use Topeka, Ottawa, and Johnson County libraries without extra charge.
