Louise Parker served in the American Red Cross and the Army’s Special Services Section. She attended Red Cross training in Washington, D.C. at American University. She was then sent to the Philippines to work in a mission hospital. After a year and a half there, she contracted malaria and came back to the United States to work as a teacher again. Following Germany’s surrender, Parker joined the Army’s Special Services Section.
