Postcard with a black and white photograph of three women sitting on a porch on the front. Starting at the right is Mrs. Sarah Jane McCracken Smith (great-grandmother of donor Rosalea Carrtar), the woman in the middle is Mrs. Margaret Usher, the widow of John Palmer Usher (Secretary of Interior under President Abraham Lincoln), and the woman on the left is unknown. The back of the postcard indicates that this was taken at 1429 Tennessee Street, Lawrence, Kansas. A white border is around the entire photograph. On the back is information on who is in the photograph, where it was taken, and when it was possible taken (1910). Note: Though it is under a different address this mansion is now the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house (bought in 1912).
