Postcard with a black and white photograph of the 800 block of Massachusetts Street on the front. Photograph is looking south and down the middle of the street. Merchants Bank is at the beginning on the left side. At the bottom of the photograph "891 Massachusetts Street Looking South from Henry St., Lawrence, KS." is typed in white ink. A white border is around the entire photograph. On the back at the middle "Mfgd. by M.L. Zercher Book and Sta. Co., Topeka, Kansas" is typed sideways in black ink. A note to Lieutenant Ted T. Shannon in San Jose, Philippines from Paul in Lawrence, not discusses how Paul is recovering from typhoid fever. Dated May 16, 1912. Postmarked May 17, 1912. Information on when the postcard was acquired is on the back, 10/19/1989.
