Description
Postcard with a black and white photograph of a scene from the 1908 flood on the front. Photograph features a city block that has flooded roads and sandbags are stacked along on side of the street, people are standing around in the background. A white border is around the entire photograph. On the back is a note to G.C. McKinley in Neosho Falls, Kansas from Lawrence, Kansas. In the note the writer indicates that this is the street north of the bridge. The end of the note is a quote from "The Reaper and the Flowers" by Henry Longfellow. Postmarked June 19, 1908. Information on when and from whom the postcard was acquired is on the back, 11/1/1989 from John Dunning.
